I was at the first meeting when we founded the Kansas Technical Training Initiative (KTTI) that led to the building of the National Center for Aviation Training that has become one of the premier aerospace and advanced manufacturing centers in United States. I voted for the funding that built the amazing educational and training center that continues to grow in student population and placement. I served on the WATC board and was instrumental in stablizing the
entity and helped create the SCETA board that oversaw the growth and move to NCAT. I was at the first meeting when the Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition (GWEDC) was conceived and created and was active in the mission development and launch. I was at the first meeting that helped create the vision and infrastructure for the Visioneering Wichita process. I was at the first meeting of the Regional Economic Area Partnership (REAP) as the Mayor of Haysville that has grown to a consortium of Cities and Counties in South Central Kansas to advocate for the economic vitality of the region. I am a believer in and advocate for investment in workforce development, technical training and regional cooperation on economic development and have put significant time, energy and intellect into each of the inititatives over the years.
